Security and Safety
Your safety is our top priority. Clappy is built with industry-standard security measures to ensure a safe environment for everyone to connect and communicate.
1. Secure Communication
All data transmitted between your device and our servers — including chat messages and profile data — is protected using TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption. This ensures your data is protected from interception during transmission.
Real-time audio and video call streams are transmitted through ZegoCloud's encrypted infrastructure, a global leader in secure communication technology. Call streams are not stored on our servers.
2. Data Protection
We store your data on secure servers with restricted access. We use encryption at rest for sensitive information and regularly audit our systems for potential vulnerabilities.
- Encrypted Backups: All database backups are encrypted to prevent data leaks.
- Access Control: Only authorized personnel can access the server infrastructure, and all access is logged.
3. Community Safety & Moderation
To maintain a positive environment, Clappy employs a multi-layered moderation system:
- Content Moderation: Our moderation systems detect and flag inappropriate content including nudity, spam, and policy violations in text and profile images.
- Child Safety: We have a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any detected CSAM is reported immediately to the NCMEC CyberTipline and relevant law enforcement authorities.
- User Reporting: Users can easily report any behavior that violates our community guidelines. Every report is reviewed by our safety team.
- Strict Enforcement: We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, nudity, and illegal activities. Violators face immediate and permanent bans.
4. App Security
The Clappy mobile app is designed with security best practices:
- Secure Session Management: We use industry-standard tokens for authentication.
- Protection Against Attacks: Our backend is protected against common web attacks such as SQL injection and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS).
5. Reporting a Vulnerability
If you believe you have found a security vulnerability in Clappy, please let us know immediately. We take all security reports seriously. Contact us at security@zeemato.com.
