Safety Tips
Last updated: April 30, 2026
Your safety matters. Follow these practical tips—online and offline—when using Clappy to meet people.
Before you chat
- Keep chats on Clappy at first until you establish trust.
- Watch for red flags: love-bombing, urgent money requests, “investment tips,” or refusal to verify identity calmly.
- Use Block and Report whenever someone crosses your boundaries.
On calls
- Don’t pressure anyone to enable camera/audio; respect “no.”
- Never share OTPs, banking pins, cryptocurrency wallet seed phrases, or government IDs in chat.
- If something feels scripted or too good to be true, slow down—and report if unsure.
Photos & privacy
- Avoid uploading photos that include your address, licence plates at home, workplace badges, or school ID.
- Be cautious sending intimate photos. Once shared, control is limited.
Meeting in person
- Meet first in busy public spaces; tell a trusted friend where you’re going.
- Arrange your own transport initially—don’t rely on someone you haven’t verified.
- Leave if anything feels uncomfortable. Your instincts matter.
